So BSE just ended.. today. Been staying in NYGBS for one month. It really was way better than I expected. I admit that I did not go in feeling optimistic. In fact, I went in with the “let me just get over with it” and “this is going to be so sian’ mentality”, thinking that I wouldn’t enjoy the one month stay there. How wrong was I when the week went on. I found staying in the boarding school fun and enriching. Firstly, you get to meet lots of new friends from other classes. I made three new friends on the first day! Then, there is also the independence part where there are no parents to keep an eye on you and you can eat, sleep, do your work at your own pace. Besides that, there is also the luxury of not having to wake up at precisely 5.52 am every morning to go to school.
Saturday outdoor activities were much better than I expected. First Saturday we went to Pulau Ubin. I had thought it would be boring, walking around the Chek Jawa thing and listening to the guide go on and on. But it turned out not too bad. The kayaking part was super fun too! We played something like captains’ ball on the water where we had to past the ball to one another while rowing around an area on kayaks without letting the “catchers” catch the ball. After that we even got to jump into the water from a platform 😀
Second Saturday we went around Bukit Timah. Our group took bus to Dairy Farm Adventure Centre, did High Ropes Challenge (not the NP one that you do in sec 4 yah) there. Our group did abseiling. Would have loved to do flying fox but didn’t have time sadly. Then we had to walk all the way from Dairy Farm to school while cutting through Bukit Timah Nature Reserve Park to the summit of Bukit Timah Hill. Eventually we didn’t go to the summit because
1. We were tired
2. Some of us already went before.
So instead, we walked on the old railway tracks there that leads from Johor to here. We walked all the way from Bukit Timah Nature Reserve there to the old Railway Station where we played games. Then we walked down from a slope near KAP there and walked from there all the way back to Boarding School.
On the way back, me and two of my groupmates were competing with one another to see who got back. Technically we were comparing shadows but in order not to lose out, we had to walk fast LOL. Then nearer to school, we thought we had completely left our group mates behind but when we turned around, we realised they had ran all the way to catch up with us, to our surprise. So yeah. That’s all for Saturday.
Second Friday was Movie Night where we watched the movie Bend It Like Beckham. It was quite nice and after that, squadmates were spazzing over the guy lead actor with a long name. Ask Kelsey cos she memorised his full name O.O Aiya in my opinion the guy also “not very shuai” -quoted from someone ehehe. Some more the movie was from 10 years ago. He would have grown much older since then. No offence squadmates.
Then today was check out where we had to lug all our luggage to school for rifle prac before lugging it all the way home. Then I slept from 1.52pm to 3.18pm.. Tonight confirm can’t sleep. Li Jia slept from 2.15 to 2.30, Jia En slept from 1 to 4 while Jean “wasted 4 hours at SUTD listening to some talk” ROFL sqms are so funny.
Anyway, back to SIA 😥
