Alright, I’m just celebrating in advance because after torts paper ended today, only one more criminal law paper to go before I’m done with year one of law school.
Absolutely looking forward to the sweet twelve long weeks of summer holidays wahahahaha.
So many things I’d love to do during summer holidays. Firstly, I finally managed to snag an internship at a law firm for one month. That came after I applied to multiple law firms (the exact number shall remain a secret…but yeah it’s many) and did not get rejected. Yeah I didn’t get rejected, but I didn’t get accepted either. I either got a response that they were had no spaces available for interns, or just didn’t get a response at all. Not exactly sure which is better – getting rejected or getting..daoed. To all those unemployed job-seekers, you have my sincerest sympathies.

Literally googled “sad memes” to find a sad meme to accompany that. This came out as “overused sad memes”, so I decided to use it again (!!!)
Anyways, really excited about my internship although it’s totally unpaid (aka free labour) aka if something happens or if I screw up some $1 million case, the law firm won’t be vicariously liable?!?! Pretty sure this is an employer-employee relationship so I think they should be vicariously liable…OKOK STOP. Torts exam is over. Time to get on criminal law. Nope this is not a crime so there’s nothing to prove beyond reasonable doubt.
Sorry. Anyway, moving on to the funn-er part of summer holidays. I have ideas. Loads of them. But I don’t really have concrete plans yet. Maybe I should get a job. I would love to spend more time on this blog. I want to learn my guitar for real. Yeah about that, so one day, I went out and bought a guitar with the money I earned while working as a temp at a law firm last year. Not exactly sure why I chose guitar as my second instrument after piano, since I had always wanted to learn the violin when I was young (and sadly my mum didn’t see any use for the violin and forced me to learn the piano T_T), and I always thought saxophones were cool. But I guess, guitars are cool too!!!!
Loads of binge-watching dramas. But that’s what I do every holidays anyway. It’s totally enjoyable but at some time, you just wanna get out of your chair and do something meaningful…before going back to binge-watch more.
Loads of binge-eating. This happens often during holidays too. But then it can’t (yes it cannot) happen to often. Gotta watch my weight yassss. But the thing about going out for meals is not just the food, but the people too. My friends are coming back from their overseas studies, I would love to catch up with them.
Yes, and overseas vacations. This is the least concrete of my not-concrete plans. Well, I wanted to visit the Nanjing, mainly to see the finals of the Volleyball Nations League in Nanjing in July, but that was before I confirmed my internship. So my internship ends on 5 July, that would only leave me with time to watch the semi-finals and finals on 6 and 7 July. Not really worth the trip over there, although Nanjing’s historical landmarks are stuff I would love to visit too. Maybe next time then. Any suggestions for places to visit in July in Asia?
So yeah, this is the distracted me trying to 畅想未来 aka daydream about my future while procrastinating. Really need to get back to studying. This criminal law paper is no joke. Countdown 3 days to end of exams 😀
